BARIAlink - founded in 2016 by Dr. Bruno Dillemans, is a web-based knowledge database and international network of specialists in bariatric and metabolic surgery. What exactly is that? Well, bariatric surgery is a branch of medicine that deals with the research and treatment of obesity.
It was time for a fresh, strong start on the digital front for BARIAlink. The biggest challenge? Putting BARIAlink on the digital map and increasing the number of registered website members. That can only be done by combining a strong social media strategy with smart email campaigns.
The needs
On a highly professional level, surgeons around the world share and discuss innovative surgical procedures, new approaches to bariatric surgery and the challenges they face. The ultimate goal? To expand the level of surgical expertise in this field.
Monthly, BARIAlink organizes the "BARIAlink Academy," a virtual classroom. There is also the "BARIAlink Library." That is a database containing all the cases discussed during the academies.
But how do the right people, especially bariatric surgeons, find their way to those monthly academies? Well, that's where Tunity steps in. We help BARIAlink gain general awareness and ensure that they can reach their target audience. Specifically, we focus on increasing the number of registered BARIAlink members, as well as the attendance of doctors and professors at the academies. How exactly do we do that? Our trajectory
The first step in the process was to understand the needs of BARIAlink. To achieve this, we organized an extensive workshop, which allowed us to identify several key requirements. In our plan of action, these were addressed piece by piece.
We determined a clear, digital strategy. The colors, fonts and photos played a crucial role in this. The right tone of voice is also important. Through LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, we position BARIAlink prominently on the digital map. We make contact with this niche target group in a focused and efficient manner.
The eye wants something, too! A professional website should be self-explanatory. In addition to content, there are elements that should be present. Layout and appearance also have an impact on the success of your website. And they understood that at BARIAlink. We were allowed to redesign the homepage.
Soon we reached the joyous milestone of 2,500 BARIAlink members on the website. In fact, by 2024, this number had more than doubled, with significant growth to over 2,500 members. Meanwhile, we continue to grow and may welcome many new surgeons every month.
