What began as a story of social media relief, quickly grew into a successful all-round project full of creativity, content creation and recruitment. We just can't get enough.
The needs
If you have been living under a rock for the past few years then the name may not immediately mean anything to you. Have you seen daylight, though? Then you can't escape it: poké bowls are turning the fast food world upside down. No one is complaining about that, of course. So in major cities, you're bound to find at least one poké bowl spot to grab a nice bite to eat. Surfside Poké's counter currently stands at no less than six establishments in top locations in Belgium and the Netherlands, but their hunger is far from satisfied.
With crisp fresh vegetables, fish, meat and vegan options, tasty sauces and irresistible toppings, customers create their own bowl, or choose from a few signature options. Order online or at the counter, if you want to enjoy a super fancy hot spot. No wonder Surfside Poké won awards with this concept. Volcano Chicken as a stopover while shopping or a Tasty Tofu bowl as a healthy dinner in the city? Who cares, why not a poké bowl for breakfast?
Anyone who is building a restaurant from the ground up knows all too well how important marketing (and more specifically, social media) is to the success of your concept. So at Surfside Poké, they knew how important it is to stay top of mind in a booming and competitive market. It's a matter of gaining and keeping your place. And that's where we emerge.
We didn't just set to work with a tight and creative social media plan, we liked to add an extra topping on top. Photo and product shoots, influencer marketing, POS material, product design, recruitment campaigns, ... You want it, we got it. And how happy we are with this collaboration!
The result
Such a tasty and colorful product seems made for the gram. Fortunately, our photographer knows how to do it. But we also all know that video has been the next big thing for a while now. Hello TikTok and Instagram Reels! Our team is constantly brainstorming for ideas, so our videographer is never bored. Such a tempting product, all those nice people and the great atmosphere... It's bound to have great results. See for yourself!
And the results? Those also speak for themselves. Monthly, our reels reach as many as 1.3 million people. On TikTok, we are growing every day. Videos with an average of 50K to 100K views and almost 18K likes show that our content is appreciated. By going viral online we stimulate brand awareness ánd make sure Surfside Poké is talked about. Digitally and in the streets. Exactly what we are looking for.
In fact, our enthusiasm went so far that we came up with a new way of working. Content Creation Days. Every month we schedule a full day to create content, on-site at the client's site. Beforehand, we organize a brainstorm and finalize our content plan so we can get to work efficiently. And then it's time for action: we shoot and film against the stars and go home with a lot of material and a belly full of poké bowl. Njammie!

"We will be so happy when the restaurant is full today." And the award for understatement of the year goes to... We had to blink twice when we turned the corner: a meter-long line to the far back of the street, even before the business opened. For-mi-da-bel. A smile on our faces, even more happy people in the restaurant. The opening of Surfside Poké Brussels was a hit. A mass of poké bowl lovers with masses of hunger and desire for more, stood with a voucher in hand, ready to attack. To give the Brussels opening a head start, we put our heads together for a crazy opening promotion: the first 100 visitors get a Surfside Poké bowl for only €1. Let me tell you something: those almost-free bowls flew out the door.
And it didn't just happen. With this punishing campaign, we targeted our audience through all kinds of channels: our flashy flyers, optimally targeted social and display ads won over every foodie. And the bowls? They did the rest! "We'll be back for this" - "Oh my God, this is heavenly" - "Unbelievably delicious". These are just a few of the sayings we were able to catch. Feeling hungry yet? Feeling lucky? Guess again. In March we opened another new branch, this time in Liege. Once again we could count on a large influx of curious eaters, influencers with excellent taste and a group of committed colleagues. Surfside Poké on the run, you're welcome!

A place you have to take a picture of. We designed an eye-catching beach flag to appeal to passers-by. As if that enormous line of people wasn't enough.

After just five days, we managed to get over 100 motivated applicants from our efforts, with a couple of successful applications! And on the day of the opening we were of course present to capture everything on film (okay, and to taste).

And while we obviously can't accomplish everything at once, we continue to work on our mission step by step. Surfside Poké will soon be impossible to get out of our cities and your head. Poké bowls all day, every day, wherever you are. That is what we strive for, and that is exactly what we are going to do.
So in the coming months, you'll see more Surfside Poké establishments popping up in your favorite cities, we're continuing to design some wonderful concepts, and we're still insufferably singing along to all kinds of viral TikTok songs. You read it: the world is far from rid of us. On the contrary: we're just getting started.
